Here you are welcome to report any Cast bugs you may have encountered

if you know of a workaround, it would be great if you would mention that too

Issues with some characters in the filename

Post by redking »

Hi, I've noticed some issues if the filename have some characters
C:\Program Files\Cast>cast -background -device Salon -file "C:\Users\XXX\Desktop\Cedric - [Cédric CD1 #02] Fai pas mwin ca.mp3"
Casting filename C:\Users\Sebastien\Desktop\Cedric - [Cédric CD1 #02] Fai pas mwin ca.mp3
Casting complete
-> I don't heard the song (sometimes only a "notification" sound)
Same for "Cedric - [CD1 #02] Fai pas mwin ca", "Cédric - Fai pas mwin ca", "Cedric - CD1 #02 Fai pas mwin ca"
C:\Program Files\Cast>cast -background -device Salon -file "C:\Users\XXX\Desktop\Cedric - Fai pas mwin ca.mp3"
Casting filename C:\Users\Sebastien\Desktop\Cedric - Fai pas mwin ca.mp3
Casting complete
-> I heard the song
Same for "Cedric - [CD1] Fai pas mwin ca"

In my case, the characters with issues are : accents (french title), #

Turned out to be an easy fix, so I just released an updated version of the program (v1.3) to address it.

You are welcome to download a copy from the website ( https://www.rlatour.com/cast/index.html ).

Please note: you may need to refresh your browser ( usually the F5 key ) to see the changes on the webpage.

Thanks again for reporting it.
