What about record levels

Post by ns7c »

It appears setvol only works for playback, can we get record too?

Yes, the program only works for playback now. I don't have any immediate plans to change that, but if I do I'll post a release update on this site.

OK, if I can twist your arm, I know a whole lot of folks that need record as well.

Ok - I had a couple of hours this morning so I created a beta for the next release that will allow you to change the levels on your recording devices too.

As an example, you can now use commands as follows:

setvol 45 device Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio)
setvol 12 balance 50:75 device Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio

as always
setvol device
returns a list of all your devices

If you would like to try it, you can get a copy here:

It seems to be working as expected for me, but I would appreciate some feedback before releasing it generally.

Hope this helps

Just close the loop on this ...

SetVol v2 has now been generally released with support for changing recording device levels.

You can get a copy from https://rlatour.com/setvol/index.html?r4r

The beta linked to earlier in these posts has been removed.
