YouTube in Fullscreen Mode

Post by Devron27 »

I would like to tell my computer to run a YouTube video in fullscreen mode. For example, "Show me Our Lady Peace Starseed" and it plays the music video.

How would I do this? I'm using Microsoft Edge but I also have Chrome. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Youtube does not display their search result screen in the same way every time, so there is not going to be an easy answer to this.

However, I did find the following list of keyboard shortcuts for Youtube:
https://www.businessinsider.com/youtube ... -shortcuts
it says, space will toggle playing, F will switch to fullscreen mode.

With that info, I set up this card which works for me for:
OK Google, tell my computer to show me Our Lady of Peace
ss1.png
ss1.png (21.56 KiB) Viewed 1575 times
youtube.p2r
(584 Bytes) Downloaded 115 times
However, it doesn't work for some other searches, for example:
OK Google, tell my computer to show me The Lock Picking Lawyer

as Youtube returns the results for Our Lady of Peace differently than The Lock Picking Lawyer.

In any case, if you decide to play around with this and find a more reliable solution, it would be great if you can post back here.

Hope this helps.

I'm not much good at programming but maybe the Mee6 discord bot can help you figure out a way? It's able to play pretty much any song pretty accurately just by artist name a song title.

Cheers!

(P.S. Would using the YouPLAY - YouTube Player app from the Microsoft Store help in any way?)
