Present upgrade message *after* Pushbullet connection?

I have a family member who cannot use her hands. She relies on Push2Run to turn on the computer's microphone so she can use Dragon Naturally Speaking to control the computer.

Things have been working very well so far. However, this morning she rebooted the machine (also via Push2Run) and when Push2Run launched it presented the dialog
A more recent version of Push2Run is available. Would you like to visit the web site? (Yes, No)
The Push2Run log at that point said

Code: Select all

    2019-08-24 09:48:44.907 - Push2Run version 2.2.0.0 started

    2019-08-24 09:48:45.188 - Windows version pre-dates Windows 10

2019-08-24 09:48:45.188 - Windows UAC notify feature is on

2019-08-24 09:48:45.188 - Normal privileges are in effect

2019-08-24 09:48:45.454 - Current network adapter is Ethernet

    2019-08-24 09:48:45.470 - Network status is up
Unfortunately, she was unable to turn on the microphone. Later, when I remoted into her machine I saw the dialog and noticed that the Push2Run tray icon was red. When I clicked "No" the log then said

Code: Select all

    2019-08-24 13:45:38.003 - Connection with Pushbullet established

and the Push2Run tray icon switched to its normal colour.

Might it be possible to display the upgrade message after the connection to Pushbullet is established? For now I have disabled "automatically check for update" but it would be nice to have the default configuration not present a Catch-22 in cases like this.

Well, that proved to be a little tricker than I thought :-)

The change is now available in the beta for the next release, which you can get from here:

https://6ec1f0a2f74d4d0c2019-591364a760 ... 40BETA.exe

You are welcome to download and install it.

However, you won't get automatically notified when the program goes from its beta release to its final release. For that, you can just check the website or forum every so often. However, when the program goes beyond version 2.4 you will see the pop-up, but as requested it will not get in the way of the other processing needed to complete the startup process or respond to commands.

Hope this will help,

Rob

Thanks, Rob. As others have mentioned, this app is a real blessing for people with disabilities.

Cheers!
